Medical Volunteers

Paramedics and EMTs, doctors and nurses

We do from time to time have Paramedics come down and work with our crews here in Honduras but in order to volunteer to work as a Paramedic with one of our chapters down here you will need to be able to both speak, read, and write Spanish fluently. The reason for this is because there is no room on the ambulances for interpreters. This type of volunteer work is very intense as our crews here do not follow what you would consider normal protocol. Medics who do not speak Spanish find themselves lost for the first minute. In a word, it is the wild west down here.

We do have a program were doctors, nurses and PAs can come down and work in our clinic where we can arrange for an interpreter. Unlike the normal "zoo" atmosphere on an ambulance the clinic allows for those who don't speak Spanish..

If you do not speak Spanish there are other ways to volunteer and there is a link on the page for that. Most of our volunteers are also donors who have been coming down for years. Please, consider coming first as a non medical volunteer, to experience the country and it's people. You will not be disapointed.
